April 11-15- Watched a DVD about the 6 Career Path. This video was sponsored by the MO Department of Education and was filmed in Columbia, MO!

April 25-29- Reviewed the 6 paths.
Discussed responsibilities and skills.
Compared and contrasted responsibilities and skills of workers within the 6 career paths.
May 9-13- Reviewed paths, skills, and responsibilities.
Handed back their Multiple Intelligence surveys from earlier this year. Connected the areas of kid smarts to the career paths.
Spent the 2nd half of class talking about transitions and how they are getting ready to transition to 4th grade! How do they feel? How can we cope with change and tough feelings? How can we help new kids feel welcome next year?
April 11-15- Took a career survey.
Talked about the 6 career paths and how their survey results might guide them toward a particular path.
April 25-29- Did an hour long class and explored the 6 career paths with hands-on activities including: sorting and counting money, bandaging an animal's hurt leg, giving someone advice for a problem, building with LEGOs, assembling a dinosaur skeleton, and drawing different objects. (I tweeted a few pictures if you would like to see examples)
May 9-13- Went over the paths from last time and talked about things that help us choose a job.
Spent the last 10 minutes of class talking about transitions and going to 5th grade.
April 11-15- Began exploring careers and career resources using MO Connections. Took a "Reality Check" survey to find out how much money we will need to earn to meet the standard at which they want to live (size of house, amount of entertainment, etc).
April 25-29- **No class because of MAP testing
May 9-13- Hour long classes to make up for missed class during testing.
First 30 minutes: Finished our career research on MO Connections. Took a career interest inventory and then researched a career in the path that came up highest for them.
Last 30 minutes: Talked about transitioning to middle school. Discussed concerns they might have and positive strategies to help them cope with tough feelings and changes.
