1st lesson- Bullying Prevention: Bystander power. A person who sees or hears bullying happening to someone else is a bystander. Bystanders have a lot of power to make things better or worse. We watched a story about a kiddo who witnessed another student bullying someone about their name. We discussed how he could make things better.
2nd lesson- Feelings. We talked about different feelings and how to identify them in ourselves and others by looking at facial expressions and body language and listening to words and tone of voice. Read Happy and Sad, Grouchy and Glad.

We talked about how EVERYONE has things that are easier and harder for them and we can be a helper to all people.

We watched a story about a kiddo who witnessed another student being bullied because she has a hard time sitting still and her behavior sometimes bothers other kids. We discussed how he could make things better.
3rd grade- Bullying Prevention: Bystander power. A person who sees or hears bullying happening to someone else is a bystander. Bystanders have a lot of power to make things better or worse. We watched a story about a kiddo who witnessed another student being bullied because he is different from other kids. We discussed how she could make things better. EVERYONE has things that are easier and harder for them and we can be a helper to all people-this doesn't mean we have to get along with everyone or be best friends with everyone, but we CAN treat all people with respect.
4th- Bullying Prevention: Bystanders to Cyber Bullying. We discussed that cyber bullying is being mean/hurtful, over and over, on purpose using technology. We talked about using the 3Rs to be a helpful bystander if we saw/heard cyber bullying. We watched a story about a kiddo who saw this happening during an online, multiplayer games and how he made the situation better by supporting the target and reporting to an adult.
