First- Coping Strategies. We continued talking about coping strategies for handling tough feelings. We reviewed our breathing strategies, learned about positive thoughts and guided imagery, and looked at a whole sheet of other strategy ideas.
Second- Gratitude. We discussed what gratitude is, why it is good for us, and how to be grateful. We watched a Kid President video: 25 Reasons to Be Thankful then used the alphabet to make our own lists of things WE are grateful for!
Third- Coping Strategies. We finished up talking about coping strategies by practicing many of the ones we brainstormed before. then we make folded fortune tellers to practice with others!
Fourth- Growth Mindset. We reviewed out positive thoughts then tried to do a very difficult task without giving up. We Read Your Fantastic Elastic Brain and discussed how we can make our brains smarter by trying new things and making mistakes.
Fifth- Positive Thought Detectives. Talked about how the stories we tell ourselves can be kind/helpful or unkind/unhelpful. Identified unhelpful thought patterns.
